FAQ - Registration & Activation

Registration & Activation

Q: When do I have to register the software?
A:
A software licence needs to be purchased and registered once you want to continue using it after the initial evaluation period, however we recommend registering prior to the expiry date to avoid any delays. Once payment has been received, you will be able to activate the licence.

Q: What is the process of registering the software?
A:
The process of registering the software has two steps:

  1. Registration: This is where the user completes Step 1 of the registration wizard, entering their relevant details and submitting the registration form and licence fee payment to Estate Master.
  2. Activation: This is where the user completes Step 2 of the registration wizard once payment has been received.

Q: The Registration Wizard does not appear when I run Estate Master?
A: If you are still evaluating the software (i.e have not registered the software yet), the Registration Wizards should appear every time you run the software. Make sure macros have been enabled when you open the software. If you are not prompted to ’enable/disable macros’, your macro security setting may be set on ’high’, rather than ’medium’. To check this setting, open Excel, then go to Tools, Macro, Security.

Q: Can I fill out the Registration Wizard on behalf of another User/PC on my PC?
A: No. The Registration Wizard needs to be filled out on the PC/Server it will be licensed to for a valid registration number to be issued.

Q: The Registration Wizard asks if I am an 'Existing Client' - how do I know?
A: An ’Existing Client’ is a company that has already purchased any Estate Master product and has received a Client ID and Password. Contact Estate Master if you have any difficulties, or click here if you have forgotten your Client ID and Password.

Q: When can I activate my software?
A: Software licence activation can only be done once the Registration Wizard has been completed, the registration form has been sent to Estate Master via email, fax or post, and payment has been confirmed.

Q: The software says 'Unlicensed', even though I registered with my registration number?
A: After activating the software (Step 2 of the Registration Wizard), close Excel completely, then re-open Estate Master, enable macros if prompted, and the licence details should now be refreshed on the software.

Q: I have reformatted or reinstalled Windows on my computer and now my initial registration number does not work?
A: The Registration Wizard will need to be completed again. A Re-Registration Request letter will also need to be filled out and returned signed to Estate Master in order to receive a new registration number. A fee may also be applicable for this re-registration.

Q: Can I transfer a licence from one PC to another or from one User to another?
A: Yes. The Registration Wizard will need to be completed again if the software is be used on a different computer. A License Transfer Request letter will also need to be completed and returned signed to Estate Master before the issuing of any new registration numbers. A fee may also be applicable for this transfer.
